Asset types
List asset types
/a/AssetTypes_list
Return a compact unpaged list of asset types, optionally limited to selected fields and a recent edit window.
When to use this endpoint
Use AssetTypes_list to populate asset-type selectors in CRM forms, Asset filters, service-maintenance tools, and Schedule of Rates configuration.
Authentication and permissions
The request must authenticate with signed API-key fields or a logged-in CRM session. The handler performs no additional page or role-permission check.
The lookup and any write use the authenticated tenant; an ID from another tenant cannot be addressed through this call.
Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
fields | JSON array or array | No | Any of id, last_edited, and name. Invalid/empty selections fall back to id and name. |
last_edited | Datetime string | No | Strict lower bound: returns rows with last_edited greater than this value and strictly less than current server time. The string is not format-validated. |
Example request
$types = FM_api('AssetTypes_list', [
'fields' => json_encode(['id', 'name', 'last_edited']),
'last_edited' => '2026-09-24 00:00:00',
]);
Example response
[
{"id": 47, "name": "Compressor", "last_edited": "2026-09-24 10:15:00"}
]
This endpoint explicitly converts id to a JSON number. Other selected database values remain strings.
Errors and unusual responses
| Response | Condition |
|---|---|
{"error":"not logged in"} | No authenticated tenant context is available. Invalid signed credentials can be rejected by the dispatcher before the handler runs. |
Legacy application errors may be returned with HTTP 200. Check the decoded response for error, not only the HTTP status.
Behaviour and edge cases
- No default
ORDER BYis applied. Consumers that display a sorted selector sort the result client-side. - The upper edit-time bound is generated at query time in the server timezone and excludes a row exactly equal to that timestamp.
- There is no search, pagination, or row limit. Asset types have no deleted/status filter.
